Privacy Policy

Effective date: September 29, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how ezTalk (“ezTalk,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information when you use the ezTalk application, related services, or this website. ezTalk is a personalized assistive communication app that may provide personalized speech recognition, context-aware AI correction, intent completion, translation, and optional text-to-speech.

1. Scope

This Policy applies to ezTalk and its related public website. It does not apply to third-party services governed by their own policies. This website is informational: it has no user accounts, does not set cookies, and does not use advertising or analytics scripts in the version published with this Policy. A hosting provider may nevertheless process routine technical logs under its own terms.

2. Information we may process

Information you provide

  • Communication content: speech, transcripts, typed text, corrections, translation requests, prompts, and context you choose to provide.
  • Personalization information: preferences, vocabulary, communication context, or other settings you choose to save or use.
  • Support communications: information you include when contacting us.

Google account information

If you choose to sign in with Google, we may receive basic account information authorized through the Google OAuth consent screen, such as your name, email address, profile image, and a Google account identifier. The exact permissions requested are displayed before you grant access. We do not receive your Google password.

Technical information

The app or its service providers may process limited technical information needed to operate, secure, and troubleshoot the service, such as app version, device or operating-system information, error details, network information, and timestamps. We seek to minimize this information.

3. How we use information

We use information only as reasonably necessary to:

  • provide the communication feature you request;
  • authenticate users and maintain service security;
  • apply user-selected personalization and preferences;
  • operate, diagnose, and improve reliability;
  • respond to support, privacy, or legal requests; and
  • comply with applicable law and protect users, ezTalk, and others.

We do not sell personal information. We do not use communication content for advertising.

4. Google services and Google user data

ezTalk follows a local-first approach where practical. Some features may use Google OAuth for authentication and Google-powered AI services for assistance. When you choose such a feature, ezTalk may send the minimum information reasonably needed to fulfill that request—such as relevant text, audio-derived content, selected context, language settings, or instructions—to Google.

Our use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will comply with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.

  • Google account information is used to authenticate you and enable the Google-connected features you request.
  • We do not use Google user data for advertising.
  • We do not transfer Google user data to data brokers or sell it.
  • We do not allow humans to read Google user data except with your affirmative permission for support or security, when required by law, or when data has been aggregated and de-identified for internal operations where permitted.

Google processes information under its own terms and privacy policy. You can review and revoke ezTalk’s access from your Google Account connections.

5. When information may be shared

We may share information only in these limited circumstances:

  • Service providers: vendors such as cloud, hosting, authentication, or AI providers that process information on our behalf to provide the service.
  • Legal and safety reasons: when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect rights and safety, investigate abuse, or secure the service.
  • Business change: as part of a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or transfer of assets, subject to appropriate safeguards and notice where required.
  • With your direction: when you ask us to share or transmit information.

6. Data storage and retention

Information may be stored locally on your device and, for features that require cloud processing, may be transmitted to and processed by service providers. We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, fulfill the purposes described in this Policy, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and protect the service. Retention can vary by data type, feature, and user settings.

Local app data may remain on your device until you delete it, clear app data, or uninstall the app. Copies may remain temporarily in backups or security logs where technically necessary. Third-party services may apply their own retention periods.

7. Your choices and rights

Depending on your location and the feature used, you may have the right to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or objection concerning your personal information. You may also:

  • decline or revoke Google OAuth permissions;
  • choose whether to use optional cloud-assisted or text-to-speech features;
  • remove locally stored information through available app or device controls; and
  • contact us to request deletion of account-associated information, if any.

We may need to verify your identity before completing a request. Some information may be retained when required by law or for legitimate security purposes.

8. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. However, no storage or transmission method is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Children

ezTalk is not directed to children under the age required to consent to data processing in their jurisdiction. If use by a child is permitted, a parent, guardian, school, or other authorized adult should provide any required consent and supervision. If you believe a child’s information was provided without appropriate authorization, contact us so we can review and take appropriate action.

10. International processing

Service providers may process information in countries other than where you live. Where required, we rely on appropriate legal mechanisms and safeguards for international transfers.

11. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy as ezTalk evolves. We will post the revised Policy here and update the effective date. If changes are material, we will provide additional notice where reasonably appropriate or legally required.
